Our Aims
The 225GROUP has three simple aims:
- Celebrate the history of the InterCity 225 high speed electric train and all its achievements across Britain's rail network
- Promote ongoing InterCity 225 operations
- Preserve the legacy of the fleet, acquiring our own vehicles and supporting other organisations that are part of the InterCity 225 story
The Group is a not-for-profit private limited company run by a board of directors and supported by a management team. We're volunteer-led with no paid staff, which ensures that all our funds go towards achieving our aims and objectives. Looking to the future, we're working towards charitable status, which we hope to achieve in early 2027 to support our InterCity 225 fleet preservation plans.
How can you help?
There are many ways you can get involved with the 225GROUP:
- Become a member - join over 300 members who share our passion for the InterCity 225. Membership starts from just £17.50 a year, with a range of benefits including exclusive updates, events and discounts.
- Visit our online shop - pick up some InterCity 225 merchandise from our online shop. Every purchase helps support the work of the 225GROUP and our future projects.
